A snapshot of the 2020 vintage

This was our smallest harvest in 35 years. The Langhorne Creek vineyards were particularly badly affected and we could only empathise with our growers George and Joe Borrett when we picked the crop. We all shook our heads in disbelief. Production of Reserve Shiraz was only 25% of normal and Reserve Cabernet around one third. Our McLaren Vale vineyards fared slightly better except BJ’s block which yielded next to nothing. Eclipse production is similar to 2019 at about half normal. Wine allocations next year will reflect this unfortunately. At least the quality looks good.
