A great new guide book by Jane Lopes & Jonathan Ross – How to Drink Australian.
Harper Noon.
Now I’m not just saying this because dad is included in the book!
I took this book with me to Western Australia when I went to work the harvest, to give me some recommendations of wineries to visit.
I had little idea of the region or the wineries so I was looking for a guide. I found the regional description and history at the start of the section particularly helpful. It gave me an excellent overview and put the wineries in context.
I used the short winery descriptions as a guide when I made a list of places I wanted to visit. Overall the book’s descriptions proved to be remarkably consistent with what I experienced.
I will continue reading the rest of the book as I travel to other wine regions of Australia. I’ve found it very interesting and a great guide.
